Behind the camera
Hi, I'm Aamer.
A photographer in Mississauga who works almost entirely with people. Headshots, portraits and events across Toronto and the GTA.
The short version
I started photographing people because I kept noticing the same thing at every event I went to: someone had spent months planning it, and the only record of it was forty blurry phone photos and a group shot where three people blinked.
That turned into headshots for friends who needed something better than a cropped wedding photo on LinkedIn, and then into portraits, and then into full event coverage. The through line has always been people rather than places or products.
Most of my clients tell me up front that they are not photogenic. Almost none of them are right. What they usually mean is that nobody has ever told them what to do with their hands, or shot them in light that was doing them any favours. That is the job.
I am based in Mississauga and shoot across Toronto, Oakville, Brampton, Etobicoke, Vaughan, Markham and the rest of the GTA. Travel inside the region is included.

How I work
Talk before shoot
Every session starts with a conversation about what the images are actually for. A headshot for a law firm and a headshot for a personal brand are not the same photograph.
Direct, don't pose
You will get told what to do with your chin, your shoulders and your hands. You will not get told to hold a smile for thirty seconds while I fiddle with a light.
Edit like a human
Colour, contrast, skin that still looks like skin. I will take out the thing that will be gone next week and leave the things that make you look like you.

Mississauga, Toronto, Oakville, Brampton, Etobicoke, Vaughan, Markham and the rest of the Greater Toronto Area.
Travel within the GTA is included. Outside the region, ask and I will quote it.
